Episode Description:

DOUBLE THE WINCHESTERS, DOUBLE THE FUN — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are once again on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list when two Leviathans clone the brothers and go on a killing spree. The subject of a nationwide manhunt, Sam and Dean need to drop off the grid so Bobby (Jim Beaver) sends them to Frank Deveraux (guest star Kevin R. McNally), a quirky surveillance expert, for help. Meanwhile, Bobby continues to search for a way to kill the Levianthans, or at least slow them down, so the real Winchesters can stop their evil doppelgangers.

From Jensen’s Meet and Greet at Chicago Convention.

Jensen talked about the last scene from this episode and it’s about Dean and Sam. Report thanks to Fangasmthebook

Fan: Is there ever a time when you read a script and you say to your character, “Dean! What are you thinking?”
Jensen: All the time. Seriously. Usually just certain lines, because we get new writers. I know that every year they have to take at least one outside submission, so basically someone who has never written for the show. They understand the show because their script got picked, and it’s a good script, but it’s just that sometimes the dialog isn’t really true to character. So I’ll either sit down and rewrite the lines to tailor it to Dean or just call Sera or Bob and say “Hey, this particular scene doesn’t sound like Dean at all. That’s happened maybe twice this year. There’s a scene between Jared and I, Sam and Dean, in fact I think it’s the next episode, it’s the end scene. We have like a falling out, an argument. And I kid you not, the scene was like straight out of a romantic comedy. It was like a break-up between a woman and a man. Right out of a romantic comedy. And Jared and I were in the make-up trailer that morning and I hadn’t really read the scene before then, and I was like “Dude, we gotta change this!” So he and I sat there in the make-up trailer and rewrote the scene to make it closer to our characters. And we didn’t even tell the producer. And then it happened again two episodes later, there was another scene and we were like, “What is happening??” And that time we finally called Sera and said we’re changing the scene. But it all says the same stuff, it’s just the way of saying it. I think one of Jared’s lines was when I go to move toward Sam and he goes “Don’t! Just don’t! I can’t even look at you right now!” And we were like “No way! I’m not saying that!” So we made it a little bit more manly. So yes, there are times when we look at the script and change lines. The writers trust us enough to know, I mean, we love these characters. We want to protect them, we would never do anything to make them look worse.

AOL Sera Gamble Interview:

Dean’s certainly displaying a lot of the same tendencies we saw after John’s death: keeping a secret and repressing a lot of his feelings — when will we see that come to a head?
Obviously this isn’t something he can carry around forever. An event in the next couple of episodes will bring up what’s going on with Dean in a pretty substantial way, between Sam [Jared Padalecki] and Dean. You know, even beyond the fact that it’s kind of wrecking him emotionally; it’s precisely the kind of thing that will bite you in the ass.

In next week’s episode, Sam and Dean are forced to go on the run after the Leviathans put them back on the FBI’s radar; is this going to be more serious than what they had to deal with courtesy of Agent Henriksen in season three?
It’s a little bit different; the Leviathans kind of take on their identities and go on a killing spree, which Sam and Dean take rather personally. And them popping back up and becoming undead, if you will, for the FBI, in that way it becomes — at least for a while — a similar problem that they found they had with Henriksen in that they become a bit more recognizable. But underneath, at the core of it, is the fact that the Leviathans are able to kind of get inside some of these databases, and are able to manipulate the system in this way. That’s the concern. It’s actually less that a Henriksen will come after them, and more that a Leviathan will come after them in this way that forces them further off the grid.

Jensen: Dean is trusting of Sam. I think that he also understands that Sam is dealing with a very unique situation, so he keeps an eye out, but I think that Dean does think that Sam’s heart is in the right place even though his head is messed up. And this will affect their relationship for a couple episodes, but it will be resolved, and I think Sam understands that it (the last episode’s shocker) was a necessity as opposed to a stab in the back. Dean doesn’t tell Sam right away – he lives with it for a couple episodes. And then…..
Season Seven Sam – The Boys in Action!
Apparently the leviathans have a plan to expose Sam and Dean, which involves making them America’s Most Wanted. Luckily for Jared and Jensen that means robbing banks and crime sprees and generally having a lot of fun. Luckily for fandom that means evil!Sam and evil!Dean, i.e. lots of hotness.
It also plays into Dean’s attempts to keep secrets from Sam. You know that never goes well, Show!!
Fan: So Sam and Dean have to hole up like rabbits.
Jensen: That’s one of the themes this season – they’re backing us into a corner together and stripping away all their tools, from the lore, because there’s no lore on leviathans, to the car – they’re like listen, everyone knows you’re driving this car, you gotta switch it up. So it’s cool, they’re taking away everything that we’ve depended on. And it’s backing us into a corner together, which means that we have to rely on each other, but in a different way, without the tools, so we’re gonna have to rely on instinct and it’s like, I’m gonna need you to watch my back and I’ll watch yours. It kinda gets back to the original format of the show.

Supernatural fans, start preparing yourselves to meet the evil version of your favorite brothers. Yes, Sam and Dean will soon have to take on…evil Sam and Dean! And executive producer Sera Gamble tells us it might get a little “psychological.” Color us intrigued!

So what else did Sera have to say about the upcoming episode, which we’re extremely excited for? And when will we meet the Leviathan boss?

In the aptly titled “Slash Fiction,” our boys once again find themselves on the FBI’s most-wanted list when two Leviathans clone them (who can blame them really?) and go on a killing spree. Naturally, evil goodness ensues.

“It’s kind of Sam and Dean vs. Sam and Dean, where we have evil Sam and Dean running around—that’s pretty great,” Sera teases. “Jared and Jensen clearly had a ton of fun playing the evil sides of themselves. Evil Sam and Dean kind of have a psychological take on why Sam and Dean act the way they do. It’s pretty funny.”

Besides wanting to look like the Winchester brothers, what exactly do the Leviathans want?

“They are very smart, they are very adaptable, and basically they find themselves in the land of opportunity,” Sera says about the new arrivals from Purgatory. “They develop the plan that works best for them, and you start to see that kind of evolve over the first half of the season. We’ll get more of a taste of what their boss is telling them and why.”

Despite their trail of carnage, Sera insists the Leviathans are “not violent, angry, slash-and-burn creatures…they’re just instinctually corrupt monsters—they’re starving and they really like eating people.” OK, then.

Sera says fans will “really dig” the Leviathan boss and will first meet him in episode six. We’re already counting down the days.

Set Report:

I saw Sam and Dean rob a bank today.
This morning my coworker came up to me and said: “You know they’re filming Supernatural down the street, right?”
I’ll let you imagine what was going through my head as I casually replied, “No, I didn’t. I might go check that out, brb.”
They were literally two blocks from my office, filming in front of a bank. I spent the rest of the day sneaking out and catching glimpses of them in 10~15 minute intervals, stretching out my lunch break as long as I possibly could. On one occasion, I arrived just in time to see Sam and Dean burst out of the bank, carrying bags of money and aiming their guns. After work, I went over there again while they were filming interior scenes. There was lots of gunfire and screaming. According to one of the PAs, they’re filming “Slash Fiction” (7.06), and the episode will air in early November.

‘Supernatural’: Kevin McNally to play Season 7’s new computer genius

When “Supernatural” bros Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) need help on a hunt, they generally enlist Bobby’s services — but there are some things Bobby just doesn’t understand.

In the sixth episode of Season 7 (tentatively titled ” Slash Fiction“), the boys get some assistance on a hunt from Frank Devereaux, described as a “mad computer genius.” Zap2it has confirmed that Kevin McNally will play the old “friend” of Bobby’s, who helps the Winchesters out of a jam… reluctantly.

McNally’s impressive acting resume spans over 30 years. He’s best known for his work as Joshamee Gibbs in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films.

For right now, Frank is only set to appear in one episode, but as part of the hunters’ network, there’s always a possibility for a return. Hopefully, Frank fares better than the last genius who got caught in the Winchester web — may Ash ( Chad Lindberg) rest in peace.

The episode will also feature recurring “Supernatural” character Sheriff Jody Mills, a friend of Bobby’s played by Kim Rhodes.
